Do you find Kole Tang Aggressive?

Recently added kole tang in my DT. It is the largest fish and seems to be bossing my sunburst anthias and black cap gamma. Havent touch the clowns yet and i hope not. What is your experience with kole tang?

I think they are great fish, or at least until I added one to my tank that already has a lawnmower blenny. Now the Kole Eye bullies Blenny. I'm trying to catch him cause I like Blenny Kravitiz a lot more. I would think as long as you don't have any grazers things should mellow out and the Kole will leave lip marks on the inside :)

To a degree, all Tangs are aggressive. some, obviously, are a lot worse than others. The bristletooth genus fish are generally among the less aggressive, though I have had individuals in the past that behaved against type.

Mine is pretty easy going, but tank is very lightly stocked. 150G with Kole, Longnose Butterfly, Eibli Angel, Mated Pair of Percula Clowns, Midas Blenny, 6 line Wrasse, Pink Spotted Goby.

Clowns give him grief when he gets to close to the eggs. He has managed to get a scar as well as given one to the clown, but no incidents in over a year. The clowns lay eggs pretty much every month.

Very active swimmer and I really understand the tang police more now that I watch Tom Tang run out of swimming room in my 6ft 150G.

+1

My current kole tang is aggressive after the initial shy period.

My kole tang bullied my lawnmower blenny to death, I presume because they have the same feeding scheme and the kole viewed the blenny as direct competition for food.

Once the blenny went fins up, the kole hasn't bothered any other fish in my tank.

Had EXACT same experience. Wife's favorite fish so the Kole had to go....

i've never seen an ounce of aggression from my kole tang. he spends all of his waking hours picking at the rocks and glass. even at feeding time, he takes what he wants and just goes on.

LOL blenny Kravitz....my kole has been awesome even with my lawnmower blenny, though the kole has only been in for around 4 months so time will tell

I have a yellow eye, flame angel and half black angel in a 120 so far. all with no issues. The yellow eye is the big wimp of the bunch
