Do you have to acclimate Zoanthids?

I always just acclimate all corals to temp then put them in. I'm sure you will get just as many answers from those who do and don't.

I always acclimate and then dip my new zoos and palys. At the very least, you should temp acclimate them.

acclimate to temp and salt I dip and them drip them water from my tank it not a must but it will help them

I was told by someone with a lot more experience than I have that most of the corals including zoas retain the water already filling them for quite a while so other than temp acclimating them it really isn't needed, although if I knew the tank they were coming from was way out of whack compared to mine I would probably do a couple hour drip acclimation as well.

So if the water parms are close I temp acclimate for 30mins to an hour. I take half a cup of water from the bag and half from the tank I'm putting them in, mix in an appropriate amount of Tropic Marin Pro Coral Cure, and then dip them for 20mins. I take another 1/4 cup of water from the bag and 3/4 from the tank they're going in, rince them in it and then put them in the tank.

I've set up a frag tank, so now everything goes into it first.

I float for temp and drop them in. Thats only if I trust the person I got them from, and I trust the frags are pest free.

Have you used Iodine or any of the other things listed on threads? If so can you compare your results to the Tropic Marin...

Thanks

It is an iodine based product and it is the only one I have used. I'm pretty new to this, so I got the advise on using it from someone in our local reef club that is very knowledgable and who has tried many different types.

Lugols/FWE/RO Water... some use TMPCC as well.

I just acclimate them for 15mins to water temp then drop them in...
