Do you use phos reactor

Just wondering how many folks with sps tanks run a phos reactor? Can you tell a difference in the corals health, color etc.
Thanks for any input.

Yes and yes also. Maybe it's a lazy-man's way, but it keeps my phosphate at .01-.03 according to my Hanna meter.

Just got one and started out with about a tablespoon of phosban to be safe. Its been 2 wks and I can tell a diffrence already, colors are deeper and the browns are coloring up. Cant wait to add more this weekend and see the results. Im real happy with it so far!

you should definetly use a phos reactor as you will notice that your corals will open up a lot more and the coloration will be a little brighter as well.

theres that big of a difference between using a reactor and just putting th phosban in a filter bag in the overflow/sump? or is that difference from not runnign phosban then going to a reactor?

i dont think using a reactor is neccessary, just gotta put the bag in a place with good flow where the phosban can be stirred around in the bag...

Used FeO phosphate removers to try them, but haven't used any in over a year.

[obviously, I might argue their necessity on my tank ... can't say about yours]

The phosphates are better removed in a reactor chamber rather then in a filter sock thrown in the sump.

I used Phosban for a year in a media bag in the sump. Then I changed over to a fluidized bed reactor. I can say the media bag was doing about 20% of what the reactor can do. My corals look so much better. Better colors, better growth, better PE, less algae growth, better water clarity.

what brand of phosphate remover are you all using in the reactor?Iv been using phosban but i have heard that rowaphos is better.

they are both the same material. I have used both products and i have gotten the same results with both so why pay more.

Thanks for all the input guys. I just installed mine last night so far so good. Po4 was undetected on test but Im sure there is some in there thus Im trying out the TLF reactor with phosban.

my opnion is that if it only costs about 50 dollars total for the reactor/media/ pump to run it why not. but yes ive seen improvements in polyp extenson since i started running mine

so a phosban reactor will do a better job then lets say using a canister filter with soem in a filter sock??

im just setting up my new 180 and was kinda up in the air on a phos reactor.... sounds like a good thing to me from what im hearing...

but my question is can i use one of my fluval 404's as a reactor of sorts and just place the phosban in there??

thanks!

anyone use chemipure? we are setting up a new tank and have a brank new phosban reactor, I was thinking of putting the chemipure in it...???
