Doc Skimmer 9004 surface intake

Hi,
I own the 9004 skimmer since one month now and it give me a cup of skim each day.
But it seems that the surface intake is not very effective as there is always a surface film in my tank. Also I see micro bubles in the intake.

For those who owns this skimmer do you see the water go by these intake ?

Or any suggestion ?

I would guess either the skimmer is submerged too deep, if you raise it a little the surface intake should move the water faster and skim more. Or, the pump is not correctly connected to the intake inside. It could also be that a small rectangular plate is missing from the pump, you might check it, it should have only 2 round holes, one for the inlet and one for the outlet, their is a rectangular one about 1cm high and 4cm long that should be covered by a small plate.

You were right Roger my skimmer was too low, I raised it and now there is no more surface film.
