Does anyone use DIY 2 part supplements?

Is anyone using a 2 part calcium-alk supplement that they mix themselves? (other than Kalkwasser).
I was thinking about making some but would like local info, such as where to get the dow flakes etc? My ph gets too high(8.6 and 8.7 I have seen before at the end of the lighting cycle) when I dose kalk heavily. I have heard you should dose kalk at night but the evaporation happens when the light and fan is on.

It was simple enough. I overshot the Ca. When you think you have the right mixture, cut it in half and allow yourself to add it over several days.
