Does interceptor kill Astrea starfish ??

Did my first interceptor treatment last night and it would be a bonus if they were wiped out as well I noticed a bunch coming out into the open which is unusual but they still seem alive ?

This sort of seems like the same kind of phenomenon when you take an astrea star and smash it into pieces and let the remains float on the water column. Those star fish will be all over the walls trying to escape and you just pick them off one by one. I personally have never has an issue with these stars but my friend had/has a bunch and that's how he rids them.
