Does your fire shrimp hide all the time?

Mine never comes out of hiding. When I feed he will come to the opening in the rock work but that is it. Is this normal?

Yes, it's normal. They're pretty shy.

Yup pretty much, it gets pretty bold when I feed the tank tho. I would even have to fend it off when I feed my lps

I think it also depends on the tank mates? I had mine with a fire fish for awhile and the shrimp was king of most of the rocks. Even after I had added in the sixline, the fire shrimp would sorta "challenge" the sixline for food during feeding time.

Yes! He hides in the rock all the time.....except, I have come home late when its been dark in the tank and dark in the room and "caught" him roaming all over the tank!

I think he does his thing at night because each morning, all uneaten pellets have been cleaned up and he's back in the rock.

Yeah mines the coolest 25.00 recluse I`ve put in the tank LOL
He will come out if I`m feeding with a turkey baster and will come take stuff from the end but then disappears into the rocks again.
Its ashamed as they are one of the nicest looking shrimps in my opinion.

You can train them to be hand fed, mine also come beg for food. But in general, they like dark shady areas.
