Dogface puffer 22 gallon

I don't know if it holds true on your side of the pond, but a 180 is a very common and relatively inexpensive tank in the US. The 6 foot (1.8m) length puts it as, in my opinion, the smallest of the big tanks. Most commonly available fish will be able to be kept successfully and glass thickness isn't going to be prohibitive for gear secured with magnets.
How much are they ?

I want to say they were under $1,000 when I looked a couple years ago. I ended up going used because there is always someone getting out or changing tank. My 150 with stand was $400.

I would get a 180 if I could fine one by the way I have seen none for sale

There are loads of companies that make 6ft tanks in the UK but they will cost you, factoring in a sump and stand I doubt you'll much change from £1500.

Do you have a local fish store? They would most likely have the ability to order you a 180g.

Also, FWIW, you don't have to justify purchasing the fish. You do not have a big enough tank for a dogface or a porcupine, and it's not right for the fish. If a 180 is out of your budget, then get a smaller tank with smaller fish, there's plenty of toby's and other aggressive fish that you can put in a 150.

I don't have a local LFS also dogface puffers don't need a 180

I dont know why people are posting stuff saying 137 is to small I have seen tons of people with them in 125 tanks happy and healthy

If I could find a 180 I would get one but the nearest LFS is 2 hours away and I can't find anything on ebay

hippo tang is ridiculous I would say they need atleast 250 gallons

I have seen tons of people with them in -insert smaller tank size here- happy and healthy.

Seeing something done wrong numerous times does not make it right. Not sure how you can understand this with the Hippo but not the Puffer.

How is it wrong even live aquaria although they say on the tank size thing 150 in the description for the fish it's says 100 gallon or more and i am sorry but I trust live aquaria more than any of you guys considering they are a professional company that sells fish and has for years

Also there is a difference a hippo tang needs a tang like that a dogface puffer can do fine in a 125 hippo tang there is a difference between keeping a fish that can fit in that size tank (although some people would disagree) and a fish in a tank around 10% of what they need

Key word in that sentence. They're in the business of selling fish. They'll sell many more if buyers go by there guidelines than those recommended by experienced aquarist. I have nothing to gain whether you buy one or not. Ime, a 137 is not a large enough tank for any genus of large puffer.

LiveAquaria list a 180 as a minimum for the Hippo...

I had not seen the live aquaria minimum size for hipp tangs since as i am not interested in big tangs I said that cause there is LFS near my grandparents that had one In a 200 gallon display tank and it outgrew it but then again that LFS said porcupine puffers get over a metre long

1 Dogface in a 22 gallon if small will be fine for the very short term. If your the cycle isn't setup your going to get in big trouble fast with ammonia spikes. They like to eat and you will want to feed. They put a heavier load on your tank. They do grow decent in the first yr if your feed them alot. Your 137 gallon tank will be fine. You start getting into more puffers you better have a good filter and watch your water quality. GL.
