So I recently added another r.o. membrane to my r.o. unit to try and cut down on my waste water. So before I move into a new house where I will have to pay my water bill. I had my father in law bring a water meter over from work and a ran a test. He set the meter at 20 gallons because you cannot reset the Meters. I made 10 gallons of water and flushed the membranes before hand and only used 24.5 gallons of water.

If I understand you correctly, you are saying that by adding a RO membrane to your original RO waste line (and then having 2 membranes in your RO/DI filter system), you've cut your ratio of waste water to "pure" water from the usual 4-5 : 1 to 2.45 : 1?

That's using just a tad over half as much as with 1 membrane. I'd call that a substantial savings. Nice job!

Does your water output increase also? Or do you just save water? I dont pay for water but hate see all that water go to waste. I may try this also. Just cash flow is super low. Picking up a Colorado sunburst nem this weekend.

My water output did increase I have a 90 gpd r.o. unit and added another 75 gpd membrane. So I get 165 gpd now. Brs says if you add it to their 75 gpd r.o. unit you will produce 150 gpd. The buckets fill up fast

I have done that for years with dual 150 gal/day membranes and it does save a lot of water. hook up the waste line to the drip system using a check valve and water your plants with clean filtered water so nothing goes to waste.
