Doing something right.

I think we're doing something right with the tank.

We have a pair of Damsels and one has been cleaning/protecting one of the rocks. Yesterday there was lots of tail flashing and dancing between the two fish and this morning when the lights came on ...

Not the greatest pictures with just actinics on but it sure looks like there will be live food in the tank at some point soon.

difficult to see in pic but they layed eggs?

What foods do you feed?

Looks to be 200 - 300 eggs on the roof of the hole in the rock.

As far as food, they get mixed flake, floating pellet, frozen (rods) and occasionally a mix of shrimp/squid/scallop that has soaked in coral snow and phyto. We feed once per day just before the daylights go off and we vary what they get.

We've been watching the male (we think) who has been cleaning and guarding the hole in the rock for a couple of weeks. He'd move anyone and everything away from "his" rock, even the other Damsel. Yesterday there was lots of swimming together, tail flicking and shimmying and general "hey look at me" activity going on. This morning when the lights came on they were doing the same dance but inside the rock. He'd coax her in, they'd rub against each other, circle nose to tail and then after 20 or 30 minutes he chased her out and now is back to guarding the rock.

The female will likely attack your hand if you put it in the tank during this period. My tomato clown does.
