Doing things the hard way

I carried my 180 gal starphire tank up stairs to the 2nd floor of my condo with the help of one other friend. tank is 60x30x24. Anyone else tried anything this stupid with success? Tank made it up stairs with no issues but my arms literally felt like they were about to fall off. That tank was the heaviest object Ive ever moved in my life. I would have waited for help but it started raining and the tank was in the back of my truck.

two plus two

I have with a 210 .......two flights of stairs + two guys = ten white knuckles:crazy1:. Crazy fun I tell ya' what! Tinman

I did that with my old 190 gal and my hands were stuck in the tank holding position for a few mins afterward.LOL My 300 is more than twice as heavy. It took 4 guys to lift it like 2 guys lifting a 190.

I unloaded my 150 from my truck by myself and got it into the house and onto the stand using nothing other than a regular dolley. Yeah, my arms were quite sore afterwards. I don't think I would have been able to pull that off w/ my 180 although they are probably pretty close weight wise being that they are both 1/2" glass.

I have the luxury of moving my 183 gal down into a basement, 48"L x 36"W x 24.5"H (1/2" thick). My saving grace is that it's an AGE with a PVC bottom which was pretty easily moved by me and a friend - if it had a glass bottom I wouldn't risk it, just too akward!
