I'm ditching a 93 cube before I even start. Trying to decide between 120 or 180.

I had a 120,160, and a 58 plumbed together when I left the hobby years ago. I liked the 120 but would really like a 6ft tank. I could go full on SPS with a 120, but due to the added length and volume of the 180 I would need more lighting, circulation...etc..
So I'm toying with the idea of going 180 1/2 reef 1/2 FOWLR or some varation untill I can bring the whole thing up to par. (litterally)
Does that sound like it'll work?

When I was looking at tanks, i was getting quotes on 125's, but got a great deal on a custom acryllic that was hard for me to pass up! It is supposed to be done this week and my skimmer will be built by next week!

Have you looked into evaporation concerns for the 180? Wonder if it's enough to condensate on my windows....

T be honest, no I havent. I dont think you will have that much evaporation to cause condensation on your windows.

Going with glass. I'll have to start a build thread when I make some progress. Is all the MR rock pictured above? I'm leaning toward a open scape similar to allow plenty of room for the SPS to grow in.

RODI unit is all installed now and working perfectly!
Tank, Sump and skimmer should be done this week! I am hoping to get it all plumbed by the weekend and get er wet!!!!
I am also hoping that my water storage tanks get here this week so I can get all of that plumbed and ready to go.
My QT is ready and I hope to have that Cycling by Thursday night, this way I will be right in line with the DT getting cycled.

Just got back from picking up the tank and the sump! :bounce3:
Tomorrow I need to go run and get my return pump and plumb the tank and all!
Not sure If I am going to have time to get water in it before I leave on a business trip on Monday! :sad2:

Tank is rinsed out and put up on the stand! I had to wait for the better half to get home from work so that we could get it out of the truck.
Tomorrow, the plan is to get it all plumbed and do a water test on the system! Then when I get back on Friday, I can start fillin her up with RODI water!!!!!
