DolphinLvr's 180 build! A dream, becomming a reality!

that tank looks awesome!! I wish I could run a 180 gallon, i am going with a 150 gal 60"x24"x24" hope its not too much for my 2nd floor apartment!!:)

BTW beautiful work on the stand. Was there a reason why you decided to do the sand / aquascape before adding the salt? Is that going to cause any concern if salt clumps up or stores in the rocks?

Well to be honest, I didnt have the means to pre-mix the salt and I didnt want to fill up the system only to have to drain out some due to the displacement by the rock and the sand. I am going to mix up the salt in my return section of the sump.

Return pump and heaters are now on!!!!

Woohoooooo!!!!

Just some more water in the get my herbie drain level set and we'll be good to go!

Light rack is all built, I still have to paint it, but I couldnt stand not seeing what my tank looks like with my Pacific Sun LEDS! These are killer!!!!!!

My LED's are the BT Python 120W Master and 2 slaves.

Sorry for the pictures, I need to figure out my custom white balance.

All of the pictures were taken at 100% Power

Nice Dolphin.

Quick question, do the Python's have all the time cycle, moon cycle, sunrise and sunset doodads ? Also, do you think I could get away with 1 for a 50l x 24w x 26h custom, or should I count on two ?

I'm really leaning towards these (plus I like the Windows Mobile App).

Well I am going to be plumbing up my water storage system and wanted to get some input from you all as far as pumps go.

1) Pump for Tsunami AT1 - This pump will need to draw RODI from approximately 10 ft away. Any Ideas?

2) Pump for Saltwater/RODI - This external pump will be used to fill the salwater storage tank from the RODI tank. It will be also used to recirculate/mix the saltwater and to push the saltwater to the sump (about 10 ft) after I have drained water for the water change. Any suggestions as to a pump? I was thinking a Mag 5

Well I finally got around to getting my light rack suspended and as I thought from builing it initially, I used to thin of material.

In building the light rack, I used 1/16 thick angled aluminum. After getting this rack suspeneded, I now have a bow in the center. Luckily I have a wife that thinks like I do about getting things done right and she said that I should build another one out of Thicker material!!!! :D

So now I sit here thinking if I should go with 1/8 in thick or 1/4!!! I am leaning towards 1/4 so I dont have to build it again.

Thank you PTR!

The LED's are Pacific Sun and I was able to get in on a group buy earlier in the year. Each unit is 120W

The rock platforms I had done when my tank was made. We used the acrylic cutouts for the Euro Bracing and then drilled holes in them so I could place Acrylic rods where ever I needed them.
