I have a cerith snail in my nano that apparently decided to cuddle up next to a stalk of xenia. The xenia attached to him, and now he's struggling to get away. I'm gonna wait a couple more hours and see what happens before I cut him free.

Man, that xenia spreads fast!

actually i got a mobile xenia i got a stalk that attached to a snail a few months ago it goes everywhere with him i figured it die off from all the travels but staying with him and hanging and doesnt seem to cause him any problems

So I guess crabs and snails "sleep" long enough during the night that xenia can attach. Anyone ever attach anything on purpose to one of our shell-bound friends?

First of all, there are only 3 types of xenias that spread that quickly..;)
I remember reading somewhere that there was this guy selling "Walking" xenias to his LFS. He would let xenias grow on to shells, then put it in a tank w/ hermit crabs. The crabs would eventually take a shell w/ a xenia on it making it a walking xenia.
