"Dose" Arcti-Pods through Profilux Doser?

Someone tell me this is a terrible idea.....I'm not sure if it would clog, and it'd be difficult as the Arcti-Pods need to be refrigerated, but I think I could find a way if it would work.....

Just discovered that my fish love them, and it'd be a way to dose a non pellet/flake food multiple times per day while I'm at work, as my finnicky fish won't accept pellet or flake.

outch... I think they will be put in the tank as "Purée" the pump dose put a lot of pressure on the tube in order to create that suction.

Even with a small Tom aqualifter diaphragm pump, you would be able to pump them out but there would be a lot left in the pipe, you would need a few solenoid to be able to plump SW to clear the pipe going to the tank

I don't think this would be a particularly good idea. The potential for spoilage in the lines if there were any food bits left over is pretty high.

I would not usually consider using any peristaltic pump (GHL or otherwise) for anything but liquids that cant spoil.

Ahh, I had a feeling that would be a problem....if only you guys could come up with a way to auto feed frozen or refrigerated foods. I'm sure this would require the design of a completely new product.

I'd definitely be in on that. I'm sure it'd be expensive, but it really would be a great feature.

Actually after reading this earlier I've already designed a system that the profilux can control using 2 switchable outlets (or one with a flip flop circuit connected to it), 2 Solenoids (with plastic parts, we sell them), freshwater resevoir for flushing the tube and a doser. I can provide the code if necessary

Total cost would be about $200-$250 Canadian not including the doser.

I'm going to be implementing this system to help me with my plankton factory I'm building, but could easily be adapted to pass refrigerated foods

Sounds like I need to upgrade to a Profilux controller too. That'll teach me to try and save money by getting an RKE.....

Wish I had just made the big purchase to begin with!

LOL we hear that everday in regards to profiLux purchases, pay now save later ;)

ProfiLux pays for itself so to speak, my one is pushing 4 years old and is a ProfiLux 3EX same controller that I got from GHL when we took on ProfiLux in the UK, just upgraded it with the times ;)
