Dosing Vodka to kill macro?

Can anyone tell me if this is feasible and if so how to do it? I have some macro that is driving me insane. It doesn't grow fast enough to hurt my sps but everytime I try to pull it out it breaks apart and takes hold somewhere else.

TIA

If you can utilize the vodka to greatly reduce any nutrients in the tank, then you can literally starve the macroalgae of the sources they need to survive. Depending upon levels etc, it may be quite difficult to completely be rid of it, but I do think that it could be a viable way to starve it.

I take it the algae is in your tank??? Whenever you pull algae it will release spores into the water. Thus spreading the algae everywhere. What I would do, get a 20ml. syrgine, boil some RO water. Spray the algae with boiling water. It will kill the algae and the spores. Be careful not to spray on the corals. Works every time for me....

If you use vodka to stave the macro, your coral will starve more. They could lighten up or even die.

If you have relatively low nutrients anyway, just get something to eat the macro. Every tank has enough nutrient to grow algae if they have coral that is alive. I got some byropsis from a wild blue stag colony and it spread quickly. I removed as much of it as I could by hand and got some turbos and they ate it once they realized that the asteas got all of the "easy picking" algae already.

You can also use kalk paste to kill macro.

That was my main concern. I already run a very low nutrient system to keep macro growth down, to the point that my SPS are lightening up. While growth is way down the stuff won't die and now the vines are weaker so pulling it out is near impossible. Now im just pulling my hair out.
