IMO that's a great way to go. You can keep a lot more coral in the same space when compared to a "wall" set up where live rock is stacked against the back wall, designed to be viewed only from the front and perhaps side panes.
On hurdle IMO is engineering it so it looks "clean" with plumbing, wires & equipment hidden from view. This is often done with one end built into the wall. Search for peninsula tanks and you'll see some examples.
