I'm afraid I also become rather impatient...

I'm following Dr Tims Fishless Cycling instructions and dosing Ammonium Chloride up to 3ppm. I added 12oz (180g worth) of One and Only Nitrifying Bacteria on Mon (11/7) and cranked the heaters up to 87 degrees, so here's hoping things will get going quickly. Apparently using Dr Tims bacteria it can cycle in a week, but I'm aiming for a more realistic two... we shall see. I've been gazing through my nano and pretending that the clowns are in there already... :D

I detail it in later blog entries... but in essence; the first cycle took 12 days; which I thought was pretty good considering pretty much all of my rock was dry/dead.

The instructions on Dr Tim's site then say to keep cycling over and over again until you can get it to go from Amm > Nitrate in 24hrs... Which I could never manage to achieve. I'm not sure if my pH was the problem, or if it was because I had no livestock... but in the end I just gave up and started stocking with no ill effects.
