Dre's Frag tank build

This is not the tank I wanted to set up right away but do to limited space and sold my 75gal.. It should work until next year

I still have my small frag tank :love2: It's made by Reefapple 18x18x8 with a built stand made by a member in Chicago..

Hope to have this baby full soon..lol!! Enjoy!!







Here is the list of equipment
Coral Compulsion 120 Dimmable Led (hope to upgrade to the new fixture)
1 MP10W
SC-S50 skimmer
Reef Keeper Lite, 2xPC4, SL1 and two float switches
MAG 5 for return
SWC 3 Dosing Pump
2x TLF with MJ1200
One MJ1200 MOD for flow in sump
Heater
2x aqua lifters
15gal sump

2 Clowns purchased from Reef Culture and a Neon Dottyback..

I tried to go with the clean look using PAR38's but was to much and was bleaching corals..

Here are PARR numbers breaking surface when I was using PAR38's under 6" water

When it was new!! The plumbing was crazy for this tank as I had a very tight fit to work with... Nothing is clued down!!

That is beautiful. What type of wood is the stand made out of?

Materials used: Premium cherry heartwood in the door, cherry wood on the door frame and trim, cherry furniture grade plywood on the sides. The frame was made of poplar wood, double layered..

What par38's were you using? I'm using some 5k par33 800 lumen bulbs on a fresh water planted tank with some reasonably good results. I like the clean look.

I love this! The girlfriend is thinking about doing one of these in the future, hope this REALLY inspires her a bit more.

I love the top view vs the side view.. But yeah the ladies did love this tank when it was full and LEDS making things POP..

Was using the 36W PAR38 LED 14K, which in my case should have been DIMMABLE with my depth... But I did like the clean look it had with the PAR38's..

Oh well!! the fixture that I have now should do the trick as its FULL SPECTRUM and dimmable
