Roger,

I have a 1073.040 on my return and it started making some noise. I took it off line to clean it and noticed the plastic casing over the magnet had a split in it which most likely is making it unbalanced.

Question is, on the tunze web site it doesn't show 1073.040 for the drive unit, it shows 1073.043. Is that the correct unit for the .040 pump?

Thanks in advance!

edit!

Sorry! I posted 1073.043 for the drive unit (wrong!)

there is actually 2 on the site one is the 1073.042 (old) and the other is the 1073.047

big difference in price! one is $50 (ouch!)and the other .042(Old) is $29.

Just need to know which one to order

Thanks

Tivo

You need 1073.047, 1073.042 was for the much older pump, pre 2007, the price difference reflects a rare earth magnet vs a ceramic magnet. The rare earth magnet has much more torque for a lower power consumption. Please replace the impeller soon, a crack in the plastic means water is reaching the rare earth magnet, rare earth magnets corrode rapidly and violently, they swell up and fall apart and this could jam the motor and make repair impossible.

Sorry to bother you again Roger

I ordered the drive unit from the web site but I'm a bit concerned regarding the time frame it may arrive. I realize you may not have anything to do with the shipping but if it is coming out of germany and it takes two weeks or so to get here I may be better off canceling the drive unit order and just picking up a new pump from one of the local online retailers.

Any guesses on what the shipping time frame usually is if it comes out of germany?

much thanks

Tivo
