drummereef's 180g in-wall build

No problem. I have been there and done that with pumps. I sent one in to have the wetside and motor replaced on my Vortech MP40 and bought their "upgrade" (the controller to turn it into a MP40W.) as a sign of my appreciation... the sent me the broken pump back with the controller... When I told them about this, they wouldn't replace the wetside or motor anymore. go figure. They sent me the parts to fix the wetside myself instead.

I have heard good things about Reeflo. I'm surprised to hear this about them.

Wow, that's really surprising about Ecotech too. They are supposed to have stellar customer service. I know there's been complaints in a couple threads but that's just weird. So far Beth at Reeflo has been very nice and accommodating, but I'm going to have to talk to Chris about this one. I'm going to request they pay to ship this one back to them since it's obviously not fixed. If he balks at that there's going to be a really unhappy drummer on the phone. :D
 
I've been there... Never any fun playing the shipping game. At least it's happening now and not a month after you have it filled with SW and critters.

So very true Hop. I'm very glad this isn't happening with any animals in the tank. I'd be devastated.

Thanks robikesfish. :) The manifold is to run all the reactors (GAC, GFO, etc) off of the main return pump instead of having individual powerheads supplying those reactors. Basically cuts down on cumulative power consumption of the system.

Well, still dealing with some pump issues. If you're interested look up a couple of posts and it's all there. I'm calling Reeflo tomorrow to see what they can do about this pump. I'll head over to your thread and see if you have any new pics. :)
 
Talked with Beth today from Reeflo today and they are sending me a brand new Baldor Dart today. Let's put it this way... It was an "interesting" phone conversation. I'll update as this situation progresses. ;)

:lol: Don't be nervous. I'm convinced with all the Reeflo pump owners out there I just somehow ended up with the lemon. I also contacted Jeff and Rob and Marine Solutions, where I bought the pump from and they have been really cool about it (not surprising :)). They said if I need backup they would be there for me. Now that's a company I can support. ;)
 
I just read your entire thread! Nice build. Very clean and very detailed. I have a friend who had similar issues recently with the new Black Fin pump. They were so good to him and sent a brand new pump right away. The thing is a beast and dead quiet! I am going be switching all of my pumps out for sequence pumps in time. Their customer service, total GPH and how silent their pumps are have me sold. Issues are resolved asap when they do happen and they don't happen too often in my experience.

I look forward to continueing with reading this build. I love it so far and will use many of your ideas in the future I am sure.

Good luck with the new pump and can't wait to see more!
