That looks sweet! :eek1: Too bad it's gonna be covered by some tank & lights! LOL:lolspin:

Thanks 110galreef! :) Yeah, I always kinda go a bit overboard when doing stuff I guess. I figured if it was a comfortable room to hang out in I'd be more apt to keep up on my tank maintenance. :D

Thanks again hop. :) You know this whole thing is modeled after your wet room right? :D

Everything is so clean and pristine looking. You must not have little ones around messing things up.

Again looking quite awesome Drummer.

Thanks again gradth. Well, not yet anyways on the little ones. Someday probably. That's why I'm putting a door in the back of the room. :D

Wow very impressive work!
I know this was a while ago, but you posted a picture on page three of your frogspawn which I think you called a "froghammer". Where did you get that? It's SO cool!
oh and i would love to see a full tank shot of that 40! (I know you said the shots you have are embarrassing, but I'm sure they won't be!)

Wow! I'm not going to be able to have an in wall build for awhile (stupid apartment living...) but I'm definitely going to follow along just for the detail you put into documenting your procedures!

I also have a coral that looks just like you're "froghammer", though i called mine a hammerspawn. The thing grows like crazy.

Thanks RedClay! The frogspawn frag was from a local reefer here in town. I call it a froghammer because it's kind of a morph between a frogspawn and hammer coral, the way the polyps look. :D I'll try and get a good FTS of my 40 for you. I just couldn't get any of them to be in focus.

Haha, hammerspawn, love it! :D Glad to have you around, Taqpol. :)

Just got caught up on this thread all I have to say is wow!
Your attention to detail is awesome Drummer!

Looking forward to seeing it full and running.

Sweet!! What is the time frame till water & rock? Do you have rock cooking now?

CLS/plumbing plans?

Thanks 110. :) No set time frame for rocks and water yet. I'm probably going to go with Marco rock for the tank but it will be a little while, so nothing cooking as of yet. I'm leaning towards two Vortechs for flow besides the return. The plumbing will be relatively simple, just drains and returns. The only 'fancy' thing I want to do is put a manifold inline for any reactors, etc... I may or may not do a refugium on the system. I've been drooling over how simple Sonny's (SunnyX) system is, and how simple he makes it look. ;) The original idea was to have a remote refugium tank plumbed into the system off to the side of the display. Still debating....

Thanks alot for stopping in GREEFMAN. :) Yeah, I'll be doing the whoot dance when I get to startup this system. It will be a little while though...

Very impressive so far, drummereef. I love what you did with your 40gal as well.

Thanks a lot FadeToGrey. I appreciate your comments on the 40g. :)

UPDATE:

Yesterday was a good day. Had the brothers' in law over to help get the tank onto the stand. With 5 guys it went pretty darn easy. Finished it off with some BBQ. Here's the latest pics!

Doin' the dance.

From the sump side.

From the family room side. Try not to look at the drywall patching and white walls. Getting ready to do some painting. :)

At least I cut the plumbing holes in the right place! :D

Marineland tanks ship with a durso-style overflow. It's kind of a modified durso. Might try these at first but if they are loud I might do a standard durso instead.

Brett, thats my exact tank. Part of my bubble problem is the return elbow on the top has that little overflow hole in it and it is spitting bubbles into the tank.
