Dry Rock Question

Want to add some more live rock to my refugium. I have some BRS dry rock sitting around. Didn't want to add it straight to my established tank so I have it in a 20 gallon tank. Its been in there for 6 days now and there is no sign of ammonia spike. Would it be safe to add now or should I let it go for another week?

If it was once live rock and had alot of dead organics then it would be a problem. If its relativley clean looking then I would just soak it in RO water for a day or two just to be safe, then plop it in. You didn't say how big your DT is and the amount of rock you are adding, but I really doubt it's a big deal.

DT is a 90 gallon (30 gallon sump/10 gallon fug.) I plan on adding about 10-15 lbs into my refugium.

I'd put a pump into the 20g, if there isn't one. Six days with a pump and no ammonia spike is good enough for addition to the tank, IMO. That's not to say that the rock will be doing much filtration just yet.
