Perhaps I've been in Covid lockdown far too long, but answering a member's question re live v. dry sand, and recollecting how much water and time it took to get dust-free sand by rinsing ... impractical in a snowy winter ... I now ask myself, why not use air? Pouring sand in front of a moderate fan (with a place for the dust to go,,, hmnm. Might be worth a thought.
Like I said, maybe too long sitting in qt. But I'm curious to try it.
