For those with DSLR bodies what is your favorite lens ? Mine is the Canon 70-200Lmk2 for the versatility and f/2.8 with nice bokeh to boot..

Nikon here. While I do like my 70-200 VR11, I still will use my 24-70 2.8 as a carry lens more often than not. If I'm running around I prefer that range and for sharpness, it's the bomb!!!!

Depends on the purpose. For a single travel lens it's my 24-70. For portraits, it's the 85 /1.8. For [affordable] wildlife it's my 300 f/4 plus TC1.4. For landscapes it's either my 20 f/2.8 or my 24-70, unless I'm backpacking, then it's the 20 or 24. I sold my 70-200 VR 1 a year ago and don't miss it. It was just too heavy for carrying and for very long and too imposing for portrait work. In Africa on a research project, I carried an 80-400 for 5-7 hours a day for the zoom range, and would buy the new 80-400 for a similar trip. That's all Nikon gear. For occasional tank macros, I use my Tamron 90 f/2.8 macro. If I could only own one lens, it would be the 24-70 /2.8 - an amazing lens.

Whenever possible, I love using the 70-200 2.8is from Canon. That said, I am normally indoors and use the 24-70.

Most used lens. . .I would say my 24-70, with my 70-200 a close second. My favorite lens. . .my 18mm, manual focus Zeiss. That lens is just a work of art, and I shed tears of joy each time I have the opportunity to use it.

All around, my 24-105. Wildlife, my 300 f4 with a 1.4x TC If I don't have to hike far I use the 300F 2.8, but it's a beast.

Tokina 16-28 2.8 pro...

Just took pics at Thanksgiving dinner and this lens is so wide I stood right at the table and got everyone in, well, even my toes (grin). Apparent DOF is immense -- infinity is at about 10'

With my D800 I can take a pic of the whole tank and then just crop the fish I want (grin).

Being psycho for macros, my Canon 100mm f2.8 EF USM macro gets a workout. 24-70 f2.8L when I'm not aiming at my tank.

Visiting MT over the holiday, I'm wanting something 300-400mm to capture the beauty of the bald eagles I'm seeing 100 yards away.

Each lens has its purpose, but I have the most fun with my 400 5.6L. One day I hope to have a 500 f4, but that is a serious jump in coin.

500 F4 would be unreal! Not sure I could ever get enough use out of it to justify the price, but if someone lent or gave me one I sure wouldn't complain! It is hard to pick a fav lens though. Need long for wildlife, wide and fast for Aurora, Macro for Macros, and zoom for portability when you can't have the whole bag with you. Maybe it would be a better topic stated as favorite lens for shooting "x, y, and z" :).

Yeah I gotta say 80-200 2.8, Then my 50 1.8. But this llace is gonnna put a macro on high priority.
