DSPS tank from Thailand (1000 gallon+)

Here comes the day!

Here comes the day!

Releasing day of my 4 Achilles tangs.
The day I've been waiting for such a long time.
17/8/10 (18.05)
- moving them to the styrofoam box with water from the QT tank
- acclimate by replacing with water from the main tank in this water bowl
- doing in every five minute
- total time for acclimation is around 2 hours

- 20.15 the time to introducing them to the main tank
- a little warm welcome from the host Achilles tang and Gem tang

I hope your Tangs get alone well. But time will tell. Good luck
Yes, you are exactly right.
Only time will tell.
I am not sure this is the challenge or the burden of my life?
If it pass, it will be more than happiness.
If not, it will be more than sin I have to confess.

I don't think I will be able to sleep again. Between your tank and my tank it's a 24 hour cycle with no down time. Its so bad I even take my IPad into the bathroom!!!!!!

Those fish are............are.............are........... I don't think I can use that language here. They are incredible ChingChai. My fingers are crossed for you!!!!

Thank you so much. My friend.

Chingchai, unfortunately we didn't make it to Thailand this year, we went to Indonesia instead (not bad either! ;)), so I still need to come by to experience your tank.

I hope the achilles will accept each other, part of the trick will probably be heavy feeding, so competition for food will be less of a factor. I've seen a large (I think around 5000 L or so) tank in Belgium with a group of powder blue tangs. The pb's were already in a group for quite some time...

Time will tell, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! This, together with Peter's topic is one of the topics I even check on my new iPhone when not at home ;)

Best of luck with the new additions. You have done everything you can to ensure their acclimation into the display tank, so if anyone deserves to have success with this, it is you.

Also, your softie tank is unbelievable. Not only are many of those species considered difficult, if not impossible to keep, they appear to be so healthy.

Congratulations.

Amazing Feat mate !!!

Amazing Feat mate !!!

:bounce3: Wonderful news mate. Ya school of ATs is so niceez !...spectacular symmetrical finnage & perfect teardrop.

Did U intentionally switch-off ya Aquarium lights so as to lessen the stress of ya ATs introduction ?

:D Over the next few weeks, carry out more frequent feeding than usual. Observe during feeding to ensure that each AT receives its fair share of the food. I find that frequent feeding helps the ATs get used to each other presence.

:fish1: Yeah the smallest AT among ya lot will try to be aggressive similar to my current trio of AT. In my case it will always try to induce skirmishes with moi resident AT which is 1.5 times larger. Dun know why but I guess it's trying to establish a pecking order perhaps.

:fish1: Another suggestion U may consider is to increase the flow of ya wavemaker as I find that they like to swim against very strong current flow. If U have Ecotech MP40W pump, all the better.

:celeb3: Lastly, enjoy the wonderful scene of ya ATs swimming gracefully & grazing on LRs around ya islands of corals.

If you have the same touch with fish as you do with the corals then sharks and guppies will be swimming side by side LOL
