DSPS tank from Thailand (1000 gallon+)

Is the webcam down?

It is still working.
But sometimes I shut them off.

Talking of miracle mud, does it actually work? Lots of people on the forum speak bad about it. I did see the last time me was there you had a fair amount in the refugium.

I do hear about what people talk about this product.
I am not sure whether they already use it or it is just a word of mouth.
But to me, I am happy with it.

Hi Ching Chai...what calcium reactor media do you use...also do you still use C-Balance, if I remember correctly you were using it on you last tank !

For calcium reactor media, I use Schuran.
No, for this tank I don't use C-Balance. I just have Calcium reactor and Kalk reactor.

Hi Ching Chai

Firstly you have a fantastic tank! Congratulations! A lot of hard work has really paid off for you. Well done.

Second, I noticed that you have some Cheato. Can you buy this in Thailand? I am in Hong Kong and they dont sell it here. I visit BKK with work, so I could buy it and bring it back.

Thanks for any help.

cheers

shaggss. Thank you for your kind words.
You don't have to buy Chaeto in BKK. I can give you for free.
Just come to collect it at my house or at our club in Chatuchak market.

Ching can we get an updated video with emphasis on all your fish???

Are you getting any spawning behavior between your fish?

That is what I am planning to do shortly.
Let me get back from Japan and I will do it.

So far I don't see any spawning behavior yet.

Hi Ching,

I hope you are not bore with me, because i always have question that bothered my mind.
Just some question:

1. How you quarantine all types of your sps coral ?

2. Do you have Pepermint shrimp in your DSPS tank ?

3. Can Massive Bacteri BLOOM can cause Deadly AMONIA raise ?

Thanks Ching Cai for answering my question.

Best Regards

Anton

Ching your tank is really awesome...

just a quick question:
do you replace your miracle mud periodically?
and also do your miracle mud tank output is located where? thank you very much again Ching!

Hey Chingchai,

As I have posted before, I find this to be one amazing tank you have constructed. While you have given a lot of information on the livestock and technicalities of the tank, I am now curious about the "human side".

How much time do you think you spend just relaxing and enjoying the tank?

Is there anything you would have done differently? Would you have gone bigger/smaller?
How often do you view your softie tank, given that it seems to be sort of tucked away?

Again, the clean appearance of your fish room is astounding. I will certainly continue to follow your thread, I check it a couple of times per week looking for new pics, vids, etc.

Thank you!

Well....

I finally finished reading every word of this thread. I'm glad, because I don't I have to worry so much about being fired at work or getting a divorce at home!

I'm certainly no expert at water quality, lighting, filtratration systems, corals, fish or even good wine, but I am an extreme expert in the appreciation of beauty (aren't we all experts in this?). Your set up is the most beautiful tank I have ever seen, by far.

As I mentioned when finally completing Peter's thread, the beauty of his tank is almost secondary compared to the pleasure I get from the whole project, ie, the concept of a "community build", best practice, input from the pro's from all over the whole world, and the way he manages his thread with humbleness, responding to every reply, and the pure passion he has for the "hobby".

I think and feel the same way about you. Any guy or gal with the proper funds could easily have sat back and written a check to have a project like this completed and check on it from month to month like a room addition, but you have the passion to be totally involved, committed and the guts to be on the cutting edge.

Thank you for inviting us all into your bulid and your home!

Someday, if invited, I would love to sit and have a long chat with both of you guys with some good wine.

Thanks for sharing and giving us folks in the peanut gallery some daily pleasure.

Mark

ps, I think the funniest thing said in this thread was that you have a huge 1000 gallon sump/refuguim for your softy tank!!!!

Hi Anton,

I am happy to answer your question.
1. I dip my sps with CoralRX.
http://coralrx.com/
2. Yes, I have 50 of them in my main tank.
3. No, I don't think so.

Cheers,

No, I never replace my miracle mud periodically.
The mud tank is located above my sump.

FloodXL. Thank you.
I wish I can spend as much time as I can.
Time always runs fast when I am in this room. Don't know why.....
For me, bigger is always better.
When I enter the room, I will always look at my softie tank first.
Thanks for following my thread.
