DSPS tank from Thailand (1000 gallon+)

Nice ventralis did they come from Australia? Cairns marine collect on the great barrier reef and they supply my lfs, they got some ventralis in a week or 2 before you got yours all 6 are alive and well. i beleive they could be from them as they export from what i was told they have a new pressure chamber and depressurised 100 ventralis over 4 days.

These fishes are from Hawaii.
Maybe Australia also have them.

i think it is Turbinaria Reniformis.

i was reading about the Ventralis Anthias in Scott Michaels book, Reef
Fishes, volume 1. they are from very great depths, like 90-120 meters. there is an area in Micronesia at that depth they call the Ventralis zone. 82% of all fish in that zone are Ventralis.

he also says that they don't do well in brightly lit reef tanks. it will be interesting to see how they do in your system.

Yes, it is Turbinaria Reniformis.

For the Ventralis Anthias, they can acclimate to brightly lit reef tanks. But we have to make sure that they can eat.

heejj chingchai, why did you not add some Archaster angulatus, Turbosnails, Dollabella, Metalia sternalis, Clypeaster, Babylonia, Mitra mitra, Ophioderma squamosissimus, Gorgasia preclara or Heteroconger hassi... Just a cleaning crew at the bottom etc.!!???

Thanks Ching for the reply, i used live rock 7 pieces, and it's fully cured last month i checked one by one thre's no smell in live rock.

1. My live rock is 7 pieces, it's fully cured, some i taken from my old tank
2. I use DIY skimmer with Sedra Pump.(mesh Wheel)
3. My sump is water from main tank down to filtersock, p.skimmer, fluidized reactor(carbon&r.phos), flow to refugium then to return pump back to main tank
4. Water exchange trough sump
5. you'r right. my skimmate in the cup skimmer is not dark yellow but medium yellow. Ching Cai said most effective is dark yellow.

I will try NP Bio Pellete for De- Nitrator but still 1 week. Still Wait until 1 Month

Hi Ching, Has your skimmer ever gave problems as its one of the most expensive money can buy. I wonder what it would cost to replace that pump after the guarantee expires. The tank still looking good, your fish guy doing an excellent job.

I got back from airport few hours ago. I didn't have a visa for Thailand. The treaty between Romania and Thailand for no visa for 15 days starts on the 20th of November. I didn't know I need a visa neither the travel agent. I had to postpone my visit to Chingchai with a few days until I don't need a visa. :furious: and :sad2:
