Time for the upgrade:
At the moment I am not quite happy with my lighting.
I think it is too blue.
Also I got the recommendation from Mr.Wilson for the new bulb.
So why not?

I change my MH bulb from Ushio 20000K to Aquastar 14500K
http://coralvue.com/category/produc...ducts/bulbs-lighting/aquastar-bulbs-lighting/
and now all my VHO is UVL 454
http://www.uvlco.com/AquariumT12VHO.html

Bad news:
The Aquastar 14500K bulbs have problem. Some of them are broken and the rest are not in good shape. I will take pics later.
I have to make claim to coralvue.
And they will refund all of these lots. This is a good company who can stand behind their quality.
As soon as they can solve the problem, they will send the ones for me.

Anybody has the same problem with me?
Sorry if I did recommend this bulb to you guys.

I bought 3 of those but have not installed it yet. Hope mine will be ok!

Did the bulbs break in shipping or while on the tank? Any UV burning as a result?

I assume you are running the bulbs at 230V. The 120V should be the same because it goes through a ballast, but I'm not 100% sure.

Congratulations, hopefully Reefcentral soon, as well!!.
It would be great to see a succinct write up of this system right on this forum!!!.

What bulbs are you running instead of the Aquastar now then?

Mo

Chingchai Well done your tank is incredible and well worth being published in many magazines and books!
I just returned from the red sea diving and your aquarium even outdoes some of the wild reefs i saw there and they were also spectacular!:inlove:

Chingchai, im curious to what coral prices are in thialand, if i were to purchase that many corals here it would cost tens of thousands of dollars

No, the bulbs are in good shape.
But it turns to be like this.
However, most of them are still working.

Wow. Red Sea!
That's a dream place for all the divers.
Would love to see some pics of them.
