No, I didn't go as well.
Maybe we can meet next time.

Cheers,

Well, It's hard to tell the quantity. I will take some clip video to show you when I feed my fishes. So you can get the idea.
For the type of food, I feed dried food five day a week (shrimp, flake, mysis, pellet etc.) and frozen food on Wednesday and Saturday (RoggersReefFood and Hikari).

Thanks.

Do you feed any coral foods as well, or just the fish foods?

I'm suprised you can get Roggers reef food over there. Just started using this myself...it's very good quality. Actually smells very good too.

Chingchai, do you use any snails in your amazing reef tank? I recall you talked about scratches on a previous tank of yours a while back. I modeled my existing 400g SPS system after your last 308-gallon tank and I now I have a few scratches on my starphire glass caused by my snails. Your current system is so clean and flawless....just curious if you use any snails in your existing setup.

Which species of snails do you believe caused the scratches? You don't by any chance have urchins or anything else that could have caused the scratches, do you?

I'm curious because I never experienced a problem with snails and Starphire glass myself.

:)

Curious ....
I never heard any inverts scratching starphire glass
But I always have problem with turbo snails scratching my acrylics.

I have Cerith snail's, Mexican Turbos; Trochus and Hawaiian Strombus Grazer snails(Strombus maculatus). The Hawaiian Strombus grazers stay small and breed in my reef. The scratches will occur when the much smaller Strombus snails get pinned underneath the much larger turbo snails, while they are cleaning the glass. It does not happen often, but when it does, new scratches in the tank will appear.

I was just curious if Chingchai uses snails in his reef. I may go without snails in my next SPS reef.

Aqua: Just to make sure I am getting this: the snail really isn't doing the damage, just if it pins another down right? sort of like a glacier draging rocks You had me wondering if I need to rush to my class to remove my Mexican turbos. BTW I will be pm'ing you about coming down your way to hit you up for some of your great frags.

Hi!

your entire system is superb!
Thank you for sharing!

what happened to the big red goniopora?

the mangroves have grown much?

best regards

Well, since everyone in reefcentral posted in this thread, im gna put in my two cents..

one of the most amazing tanks/aquascaping ive seen.. i like the before pic better than the recent pic because it looks too overcrowded.. but overall an amazing tank

Chingchai,

I just wanted to let you know you have been such a huge inspiration that until I build a tank, that hopefully will be half as amazing as yours, I have built a small Nano in NYC based on the left side of your tank.

I will post pictures as soon as it looks like something.

Again, thank you for inspiring all of us to achieve the unimaginable in this hobby.

Cheers.

Starting 3 days ago I've gone through each and every page since the beginning and still only on page 125 of this thread. The build is amazing and breathtaking. It's a dream a lot of us have but very few can ever accomplish due to time, patience, resources, knowledge, and above all, pure motivation and passion. I applaud you and everyone else that's worked on the tank with you. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us.

Could you tell me the name of the white filter?

I do feed coral food(DT's Oyster Egg, Frozen Cyclop-eeze, Frozen Plankton and Nutra-Kol) via my softie tank.

I get Roggers reef food by airfreight.

I do have some snails in my tank.
They come with live rocks.
But I don't have any problem with them on the scratch issue.
You may have to be more careful when you use magnet cleaner.

Pedro. Thanks.
That big red goniopora already died.
Mangrove grows not so fast.
