I´m impressed of how many congratulations have been posted here, and i was wondering that, dispytes the amazing project itself, major these congrats are because of Chingchai´s passion to share it with all of us, and for his tenderness and compromisse to answer every single question, and thank every single opinio.
Isn´t that wonderful when different people with diferent culture, color, age, sex, language, religion, money, humor, whatever, are able to share the joy of such a dream coming true.

Chingchai, maybe your project already got upon expectations even before get ready....

**Hey you guys out there, we´ll need to set a international expedition to Chingchai´s home when this beuty starts loosing frags... ;)
***Better thinking....we´ll need to carry there some frags from our reefs to present Chingchai and help him fullfeel that lovely nanoreef....hehehe

chingchai, everything is progressing nicely.
i have some food for thought ,though it may be a little late .
i have been the owner of the tank that matt (whom came to visit you recently ) had . please be very careful with the waveboxes! this from experiance ,but my tank is 600 gallons that was built out of one inch acrylic on all sides . before filling i made a custom wavebox with two slightly larger water holding areas than the normal tunze box ( larger piston , larger movement of water ) , this gave me a 1 1/2" wave , which is about the same as matt had with three wave boxes in the tank . he only had them in use for a short time . i finally had to remove the unit due to it causing stress fractures on the top and bottom of the front viewing areas. i cannot see the back panel due to the extra 1/4 " black panel but i am sure the same exsist . i am a very anal person and over build when doing a project so there was no other condition to help cause this problem . i know your tank is thicker than mine but you have many more waveboxes than i used . i love the waveboxes but in hind sight they are better for use in a glass tank .

Thank you for your warning.
I will keep an eye on this issue.

Today is good day.
9/9/2009.
Wishing all the best to everybody.

I already asked my friend to do the aqascaping this evening.
Will post pics later on.

chingchai : how much was this piece ?

It costs US$150.00.
Reasonable. Right?:)

Hi chingchai

Just popping in from another part of the world,
Your build is the hottest topic in the reefing community here in Israel.

I am wordless, you are putting up new standards in this hobby as of perfection, devotion etc. and thats before any livestock hit the tank. wow!

just keep it going!

Ching,

Great thread. Thanks for all of your patience in answering just about every single question that has been asked. I love everything about this build. I can't believe your LFS had all of those nice pieces to choose from. The colors are just amazing.

Yesterday, I was trying to figure out how I was going to acquire one of my favorite chalices. Now, I want to build a 1000g+ tank just like this one! Not sure whether to thank you for that or not : ) lol

Props to your designer. The two of you really hit the mark with a one of a kind build. I've been to Thailand a couple of times. Would love to see this on my next visit. You should think about charging admission so you can afford more of those nice SPS pieces you posted pics of. : ) I have a feeling you will be getting lots of visitors due to this tank.

Well done!!! Top notch!

Craig

I bought a really nice medium sized purple/bule monti digi for 2500 baht, they had an huge amount of it. Some of the millis were amazing.
Did you cliam anything?

Absolutely fantastic build Ching! Thanks for posting the progress.

Although the prices may be very low, keep in mind folks that this is in Thailand. Add on the cost of getting that coral to the other side of the world in one healthy piece is going to add a bit to that price. You'd pretty much have to pay that guy to hold it just like that all the way...

I wish I can have US$1million.:p

This is where I was born. It is opposite the fish room.
My parent bought it in 1965. It costs US$7,000.00.
Now we still use it as our office.

I agree, home is where the heart is.

Let me also congratulate you on such a beautiful and well planned system. I appreciate a well designed product. I can't wait to see it with fish and corals. I don't normally view webcam's, but in your case I think I will make an exception.

I'm hoping that you can answer an interior design (or perhaps a Bangkok real estate) question for me regarding your build. Conventional wisdom has a traditional viewing for large screen tv's and the like such that a person should sit/stand a distance away from the tv equal to about 2-3 times the height of the screen. In other words, for a 65 inch tv having a height of 32 inches should sit between 6-9 feet away. In part this is due to the pixel size, but a large part of this is also due to the viewing angles that the human eye is designed for. It would seem that the geometry of your room will in many instances (depending on how far you sit from the front door) not allow for that.

So here's my question(s): did you ever consider purchasing the adjoining building so that you would be able to view the entire tank length from a more narrow viewing angle? Or are you targeting a more "immersion" experience for viewing the tank whereby it fills your field of view (like an IMAX theatre). Or maybe this is just how it came to be, with no real intent for either of the immediate options (and there's nothing wrong with that; some of my best work has been sheer happenstance). My curious mind would like to be educated. :)

Keep up the good work.

It's working for me. Right this moment (12:51 a.m. CDT, 12:51 p.m. Bangkok time) just the actinics are on. Later this evening (Wednesday evening Bangkok time), a guy is coming over to do the aquascaping. That will be Wednesday morning our time.
