DSPS tank from Thailand (1000 gallon+)

Truly awesome. Your tank is an inspiration. I really like your branching tower aquascape. Really looks nice with so much space around ...

Breakerone. Thanks for reference pics.
Those two tanks are my inspiration as well.
Don't worry. I will definitely add more fishes.
But I don't want some common fishes. That's why I have to make a special order.

Totally understandable. And I really forgot to comment on your excellent fish choice. Its just that your tank is so large, that I thought you could probably add some additonal common fish to your other stocking plans just for the looks. I mean, everyone has then, but I have to admit that the colors of a powder blue tang or the bright yellow of a hawaii tang or the orange of anthias just add to the overall colorful impression of a tank.
A black tang or even a gem tang are rare and fantastic fish, but in an FTS pic you will most likely not even see them if you know what I mean.

Of course second to your personal preference it mostly comes down to who you are going to show the tank. If its about neighbors/friends and their kids, coming over to check out the fantastic tank, they most probably wont be able give the rare fish enough credit, because for them bright colors will stick out first.
Fellow reefers on the other hand will most likely be able to value your fish choice, but will never say: omg, you have a powder blue in your tank? What a waste ;)

@ dantimdad: I have to say I dont know anymore. I believe it was an asian LFS and I found the pic in a thread focussed on non photosynthetic corals.

Fishs are in the same level of the reef setup... Top Top Top !!!

I really love the design of your tank and want to see it maturing..

Confess the curiosity to see you cleaning the botton of the aquarium... hehehe

I like seeing some algae in tanks, it's part of reefs. It certainly should help out some of the fish eating habbits.

Chingchai,
Absolutely one of the best setups I've ever seen. I have no doubt that it will mature into a beautiful reef. I have only one complaint, and it's a minor one about an equipment/stocking choice that you made. You live in Thailand and don't have a bottle of Singha Gold chilling in the beer cooler? Major party foul to not have at least a few dometic beers onhand.

On another note, my wife and I will be in Thailand for about a month in December and January. I had planned on spending all my time in Phuket and Chiang Mai but now that I've stumbled on this thread I may have to alter those plans to give me at least a day or so in BKK. I can tell the wife I did it so she can shop. If things work out I'd love the opportunity to see this tank in person.

Mike

Excellent setup. I have a HUGE request for someone. It would be GREAT if someone took all the posts with pictures and explaniations and put them in a thread by themself so someone can see from beginning to end without having to filter through all the other posts. Just a thought. I love your tank!!

Nice work. I need to find a place that will sell me large sps colonies like yours.
