DSPS tank from Thailand (1000 gallon+)

Ching, your system is very well planned and executed so Im sure there's a reason and maybe this question has already been answered but instead of using a separate pump for each device, why didn't you use one larger pump and create a manifold to each?

I would think it would create less heat and plumbing for the system.

Then again, if the single pump went bad nothing would be running where if you have a pump go bad now, only one device in the system would be down...

Good point.
But I prefer seperate pump.

Ching, what did you use for your lettering;

It is custom-made sticker.

what is this coral? This thing is gorgeous!!![/QUOTE]

White Lightning Sponge
(Ptilocaulis sp.)

Stats
Care Level: Moderate
Lighting Requirements: Low
Water Flow: Moderate to High
Aggressiveness: Peaceful
Range: Australia
Family: Axinellidae
Water Conditions: 74-80° F; sg 1.023-1.025; pH 8.1-8.4; dKH 8-12

Notes: These beautiful Australian sponges will add a dramatic contrast of color to any reef aquarium. Beautiful white polyps open out of the white stripes on the sponge.

Place the White Lightning Sponge towards the bottom of the aquarium where it will receive moderate to high water flow, but only low levels of light.

This sponge requires feedings of dissolved organic matter including marine snow and phytoplankton in order to maintain proper health.

Please Note: Do not expose sponges to air. Air can become trapped in the matrix channels, which line the inside of its body blocking food from reaching its cells. This will result in the death of the sponge. When placing the sponge in the aquarium place the shipping bag in the aquarium and cut the bag open underwater. Remove the sponge from the bag underwater and let it fall into the aquarium. Twist the shipping bag closed underwater, and discard the water in the bag. A small amount of shipping water will escape into your aquarium using this method, but our shipping water is completely reef safe.

when desired, amazing dreams become reality. big fan and keeper of a Garibaldi great choice. considered a outcast in home displays, not desired by many. how long had yours been under your care?

Hi Ching, congratulations, simply breathtaking.

I have noticed that in your sump the Eheim pumps are placed on what look like white rubber matts. What material are those made of as I am thinking of using something similar for the Eheims in my sump.

Thanks in advance

Hi Ching
Tank is looking good, Any plans on covering the back to hide the pipes and pump cords? PLease say yes! :D

I don't think he's really taking advantage of the white material. There is shadow and sand visible under the pumps. I run an eheim suspended like this as well and it makes them far quieter.

Lastlight, thanks, upon further inspection I think you are right, it looks like they are suspended.

PS: Have subscribed to your thread sometime ago and eagerly await to see your updates on an amazing build.
