Funny thing about that QT set up if you think about it is, that is probably what the serious hobbiest should be striving for. If you are trying to prepare the fish for life in the display tank, the conditions should be as close as possible to the same except with the option to allow for treatment should the need arise. I guess it is probably unrealistic for most people in the hobby to afford a QT that looks better than a lot of DT I have seen. Keep up the good work ChingChai

Why spend the amount of money that we do on our displays only to have corals and fish struggle through QT. A QT should be a second tank that will not force you to place new specimens into your display, but to add them when they are ready.

Ching Chai, i have been following this thread on and off from the beginning, and i have to say your tank is truely unbelievable! amazing in all aspects! that QT tank is on another level as well!

quick q though, with your drains exposed (without an overflow box), and i don;t see any t's on the back of them for air, do you have any gurgling noises?? if not, how do you keep the drains quiet?

i'm in the process of drillng my tank and building an overflow, so i noticed how clean your tank looks without a big overflow across the back...

This is what I did to kill the gurgling noise.
I just insert oxygen tube to upper hole of the outlet. No more noise after all.
I think it is easier than drilling hole at the back of outlet pipe.

No, this tank is not rimless.
It is euro-bracing.

Finally, my friend find the best solution to cover all visible wire of my wavemakers.
She orders custom-made white leather with zip to wrap around the inlet and outlet pipes.
I am very happy with this.

so awesome chingchai. so awesome. the color lights are great. you can change the mood of the room instantly. i have lurked your thread for a while now, and just can't help but smile when i see updated photos and changes. i admire your ability to set your sights on a goal and accept nothing short of perfection. no corners cut. even if i never have such an extravagant set-up your project has inspired me.
i thought i couldn't be surprised anymore by your extravagant vision. when you said you were setting up QT i expected a bare tank on a shelf in your back room. SURPRISE! when you said you would attach your wires to the pipes in the back, i assumed zip ties. SURPRISE! Leather covers? AWESOME!
If you don't mind me asking a couple questions:
I understand this is not the house you live in. How much time do you spend in your tank room? Just curious.

And I have been not able to access the web cam, has it been taken off line? Or is the issue on my end? I am using a PC.
