DSPS tank from Thailand (1000 gallon+)

Hello Chingchai,

I must say that looks like even a spectacular qt tank......very likely nicer than most peoples display aquariums!
I am glad to see someone giving the tunze mangrove box a chance I have only seen the product at Reef Builders website when it was released and nothing else since. I take it you will have some mangroves in it and some just in the refugium? If that is the case I look forward to seeing if you find differing results in growth from the two different locations.

Always inspiring reading your thread,

Patrick

Patrick. Thanks for your kind words.
Yes, I do like this Tunze mangrove box.
I will buy another one and put it in my QT sump to see the result.
Thanks for your suggestion.

So far so good.
They seem to be more friendly.

They are indeed gorgeous fish. I hope Im not becoming too pessimistic, but I see a lot of aggression in this short video. All the circling is confrontation. I, honestly attribute this to being in a small QT tank, and hope it will resolve once they are in the big tank. However, I see the bigger concern being the two existing achilles in your tank. They will not like, nor tolerate, the additions, IMO. I really do hope that Im wrong.

Very exciting Ching!! As always great looking specimens, cannot wait to see these guys with the other two brutes in your display.

They look like they are getting their aggression out in the quarantine, and fingers crossed that they settle down in the main display in two weeks!!!

They look great. How big are they?... 4-5"?.

Really healthy beautiful achilles tangs!! When you introduce them to the large display i would put them in a custom made acrylic container with holes, as the other 2 already in the aquarium will be upset and will usually fight but if they cant get to them for a while they may get used to them and as there will be 7 of them aggression may be dispersed.

Best of luck what you attempting is very difficult because in the wild they normally only group temporarily in order to invade damsel territories or other surgeonfish territories to raid their algae farms.

But so far your aquarium is amazing and already opening up new frontiers, so it may be possible to succeed where others have failed, i have seen powder blues kept together 5 of them in a 10000 litre with no aggression, they must be well fed it also reduces aggression

No, you are exactly right.
What I am doing is not the right thing.
You can hate me for this incident. I can admit it.

Hi Shawn,

Thanks so much for your kind words and your useful information.
I will follow your instruction.

??? I dont understand why you would make such a comment. I do not hate you. I merely wished to express my opinion on the video you posted, in relation to the several other comments which indicated that they appeared to be getting along fine.

I assumed that threads like these were for people to learn, comment, and give insight. Perhaps I am mistaken. Good luck to you. I do hope I am wrong, and all the fish do very well.
