DSPS tank from Thailand (1000 gallon+)

Hi Chingchai,
I wouldn't call it fake rock. It looks like real rock :)
It's beautiful craftsmanship and paint job.
Is it a single piece or modular?
How you planning to cycle this big boy and for how long?
You are doing something ground breaking here and definately we are looking forward.
Wishing you the best :)

Is this fiber glass material easy to move? I remember with your live rock project a portion of the structures were assembled inside the tank. How do u plan on getting a fully made structure into your tank? I like the look of the fiberglass hopefully its a easy transition that gets you really motivated into this hobby again with a new look and perhaps a new wine with it? :)

Friends. Thank you so much for your concern.
I do appreciate it.
Well. Let's just wait and see the progress.
I will keep you guys updated.

FYI: This is the tank with fiberglass rock

Sir, you have always been a pioneer and a priceless inspiration among aquarists. For this reason I'm sure that in the next few years what you are doing now will become a trend in aquarium industry. I wish you all the best.

Hey Chingchai,

It's been a while since I've been online buddy and now I see all these new fiberglass rocks ... sitting on the area where your red couch used to be ... those are huge!!! Is the rock manufacturer from JJ Market?

How and where or who will babysit all your livestocks?

Paul

Beautiful looking false rock I think if I had access to some of that here in New York I would have probably gone that route.

One of the many thing I don't understand about this hobby. If you replace your live rock with fiberglass rock how will your tank's ecosystem deal with the NO2? Don't you need the anaerobic environment inside live rock to reduce this stuff to N2 + CO2? I thought live rock was the silver bullet of reef keeping.
Please do not take this any king of criticism, I just trying to understand because my rockwork skills s**k and this would be great option for me.
Looking forward to your progress.

Live rock will do a better job because of the porosity. The porosity gives it a lot more surface area for bacteria. There are products available that can make up for it like Sera Siporax.

Yes, it is easy to move. Only two man can lift each piece up.
The plan is:
- take all corals out
- take out live rock
- put fake rock in position
- introduce all corals back

Now I am getting back into this hobby little by little.
Hope the outcome will make me happy.

antti. Thanks.
Let's just wait and see the result.
If it turns out good, it will be another option for newbie aquarists.

Hi Paul,

Yes, the shop is in JJ market.
Livestocks will be taken out and put back as soon as possible.
Should be around 2 days.
