Dual lamp ballast switching

I have a dual compact florescent lamp ballast ( one 120v input to two lamp output). The problem is, I would like to switch both lamps with a timer and the only timers I can find are 120v switching timers. The way I see it is I need to find a timer unit that just has contacts to connect wiring to(not your standard three prong 120v plug). Or maybe buying two single lamp ballasts and using the standard timers would be cheaper. Anyone have any bright ideas?
