dumb ro/di set up question....

i just got my unit today and hooked it up. It did not come with a pressure gauge so i bought one at HDl. now where do i put it?

on my paperwork it says to but it inbetween the 3rd stage and the RO membrain. i have also seen people put the gauge on the tap water line in....do i need two? am i the crazy one?

where is the correct placement of a pressure gauge on a ro/di unit.....?

As long as you have enough pressure to begin with, you don't need one IMO. It's like the seatbelt light on the dashboard... You know when it's on or not

It's the membrane that requires the certian amount of pressure so right before the membrane, after the final prefilter, just like the Filter Guys state.

Also it shows a loss in pressure when the sediment filters begin to clog up.

A pressure gauge or better yet two are good troubleshooting tools. If you have one put it between the carbon block and the RO membrane to measure pressure drop across the filter array. If you have two put one on the incoming line and the other where I stated before so you get a more accurate measurement of differential pressure. This gives you a real accurate measurement of prefilter condition and can help predict RO flow rates when used along with water temperature. Just because you have 60 psi at the tap doesn't mean you will have 60 psi available to the membrane.
