Durso TUNING HELP TO MUCH AIR

OK I HAVE A 265 DISPLAY WITH A CALI OVERFLOW ABOUT 4FT LONG CENTERED ON THE BACK WALL. I HAVE 2, 1 INCH PIPES WITH DUSO'S FITTED ON BOTH I PUT A SMALL HOLE LIKE 1/16 OF AN INCH IN BOTH DURSO'S I SEEM TO BE GETTING MORE AIR THAN WATER THREW THE RETURN TO THE SUMP WHICH IS 2 INCH PIPE. IVE TRYED TO TURN DOWN THE FLOW AT THE END OF THE RETURN TO THE SUMP BUT THAT DOESN'T WORK. IVE TRYED TO MAKE THE HOLES IN THE DURSO BIGGER DID NOT WORK. I PUT VALVES IN THE DURSO'S TO TUNE THEM STILL DONT WORK PLEASE HELP IS MY RETURN PIPE BEING 2 INCHES TO LARGE FOR THE SYSTEM. THATS WHAT I WAS GONNA DO NEXT. THANKS BOBB

well you have the caps lock figured out now you just need to work on the red lettering and then we'll now your really mad....Did you only take the CAPS home from the printing shop?

From the sounds of things you don't have enough flow but I can't be certain (with all that yelling) do you have any pictures of what your set up looks like? You didn't mention what type of pump your using or better yet the flow of the pump (minus the head). and what are the holes that you drilled for?

It's not exactly clear on what your situation is from your description. You mentioned that you have 1" dursos but have a 2" pipe leading to the sump, which I find unusual. Making the dursos the same width as the pipe might help. Also, with 1/16th" holes, I'm positive you're not getting too much air, more likely not enough air. In my set up, I have three 1/4" holes in a 2" durso, and it runs really quiet. A little more detail on your setup might help us answer you better.

It sounds like he has 2 1" drains in the tank that wye or tee into 1 2" drain. If that is the case, you only need a 1.5" drain, as it will flow slightly more than 2 1" drains. Not sure if that is what is causing the issue, though.

OK OK ENUF about the caps lock already!!!!!!!!!!! I saw it when I was half done typing so I left it. I do love the Ball busting though thank you. I have a Reef flo Dart 3600 with about 6 ft head. Im of the opinion that the 2" that the 2-1" overflows go into is the problem I figured a smaller pipe down there but wanted to see what all you thought. I tune back the 2" Valve to the sump but it doesn't do the trick. Do you think Holes in the Durso's below the water would work I see that sometimes here and there.
