What exactly are you trying to do?
That type of system is what we ran at Pet Lover's for years before I switched it out for the newer systems. I actually have a whole tower in my shed [though I wish i didn't].

the over flow holes are most likely 1 inch. i needed to re drill for 1.5 in bulk head. if they are the 50 inch long units with 2 dividers, you will need a power head in each section to circulate the water in each. remove the air lines and foam.
