Dutch reef

Thanks a lot Baros ! I was looking for your tank but could not find it here. Do you still have it ?

Yes, I still have the same tank. I had to remove 50% of the corals due to lack of space, it's looks a lot different now.
Thanks for the interest.

Greetings from Amsterdam,

What did you do with the worm? Give it to Artis zoo? Gerrit from Holgen way telling me about your tank I think. Any chance for a visit?

Tim

I see you also using N and P pellets on the system. Tell me honeslty are they any good on a reef tank. Will it work on a system using bare bottom, no dsb, no refugium for caulepa, just live rock.

Hi Tim, I am sorry to say that the worm found his grave in the Singel canal.
I will be in the hotel tomorrow morning and other wise send me a pm and we can arrange something else.

Hi Zaheda, I do not use the NP pellets but I have heard good things.
I beleive you can use them in any system.

That is classic! Ending up in the canal.

I have been past your hotel a numbers of time, but thought it strange just to walk in. Thank you for the invite, I will pm you next week to see if you are around on Tue or Wed.

Kind Regards,

Tim

I am sitting infront of the tank as I type this, and I can say that no pictures will do this tank justice, it is great to see in person and I'm constantly late to appointments and getting to bed as I always need to stop and watch the tank as I pass through the lobby. Jan has a gone beyond being a gracious host and many many thanks indeed for a wonderful stay... and I do see a new coral in there that wasn't in there this morning :spin1:

Hi Joe, thanks for your kind words ! I wish we could have more guests like you ! Thanks for your stay and I look forward to see your beautiful tank in New York.

The tank is looking awesome.... Are you still using the 2 ATI powermodules? Do they add much heat to the system? How high are they suspended above the tank? I'm sure Joe will be mentioning your tank at our next meeting.
thanks,
Frank

Thank you Frank ! I still have the Powermodules. I have no problem with the heat they generate. I am sure the little fans on top of the bulbs help a lot. The lamps are at aprox. 30 cm above the water.

My tank shots came out ok, but not great, but here are a few other pics from a tremendous stay, many many thanks to Jan and his wonderful staff!

Spent some good times talking about the tank, and rumor has it there may be another tank in the works at the hotel, but I'll let Jan confirm or deny that one...
