Dwarf seahorse tank

Hey guys. I have a small tank set up in anticipation of the dwarf seahorses I am getting from the reeftopia order. I used the tank I won at the frag swap last year. I glued in a divider so the seahorsed wouldn't get near the heater or filter. Dwarves are very prone to getting sucked up into even the weakest filters. I also put in some cheato and made it a refugium. I put in some tigger pods to hopefully supplement the baby brine shrimp the horses will be eating. The middle of the divider is that craft stuff that you weave yarn through (can't think of the name right now). The stand is an end table I got from Target. They had it on clearance and it happens to be about 1" bigger all the way around. It looks like it was made from the tank. I put in a mangrove I got while in Florida. I am hoping it forms some aerial roots and I can sort of make a bonsai out of it.

So this is the one you were talking about !!! Very nice Mike , the tank looks almost cube'ish

I like the back flow area you did. Gives me ideas with Chase's frag tank.

I actually got it from the beach when we went on vacation this spring. I thought I had killed it when I burned all the leaves off from being too close to the MH bulb. It came back after a few weeks and it growing pretty good now. Two new leaves have started to open since I set up the new tank.

Nice Mike! I really, really like that size.

I can't wait to see those seahorses and pipefish in there!

I'm getting them from reeftopia. I don't plan on any corals in it. I have very little water flow in the tank and also some corals can sting the horses when they grab onto them.

Alright guys, I finally got around to taking some pictures of the horses.

Here is one that has a lot of cirri on it. To get an idea of the size of them that is a mangrove root and those little white things are those tiny tubeworms that grow all over everything.

Here is the pregnant male. I expect him to spew out some babies any day now.

This is another male. He was having some boyancy problems when I first introduced him but he seems fine now. As a matter of fact I saw him displaying to a female a while ago. That is some cheato next to him.

Here is one of the pipefish. I was expecting to put them in with the seahorses but they were much bigger than the last ones I got. I guess they are a different species. I instead put them in a 30 gal. tank.

Cirri are the long stringy things sticking off of it. Those things that look like antennae are cirri.

I am feeding them tigger pods and baby brine shrimp.
