Dwayne's SPS Elos Tank from Canada

yikes........well now I have nothing to bring you that you don't already have when I come to see your tank.....how rude! I bought one of those colonies when RR got them in.

I did get a frag of the Diablo but its a bit washed out in colour from the T5 coming from 400mh. This happens alot to my sticks compared to when I buy them, some look like they are in a Zeo tank but they are not.

I will be switching the Illumina back to a crappy 36" Tek as soon as I get the time to do so over my frag tank. The twin radions on my work tank are still just "OK" going to give it a bit more time then put the Geismann light back up if I dont see improvement soon

Lots of sweet looking Acros and a Gem Tang to go with it.

I believe those can be unscrewed to refill the containers. At least that's what I would use them for.

the tang is perfect size ! I was after a nice sized gem some months ago, [lucky i didnt find one haahah ]
but I hear you about the wrasse, I lost a 3 year old yellow wrasse last week the same way :S nothing compared to your rosy but we just get used to our fish so much they become kinda like kids.

I tried to make a top from BRS netting I bought but I am so inept that it looked like a dogs breakfast. If anyone would make me a custom one for a reasonable price Id buy it in a heartbeat

Ive lost hundreds of dollars worth of fish this way, the list is long and recently painfull.. both my male AND female Tonga flame wrasse jumped last night. Goodbye beautiful and rare fishes. Not to mention 350 bucks.

No more wrasses until I find a lid of some sort

Well that makes two if us. I really have to stop myself when shopping there from buying out of the show tank I just cannot replicate his conditions for deep colour. My Avenger and others have done the same thing. They are all in a rack 6" off the sand so maybe when I move them up they will colour up more. Who knows?

Thanks SMAC, your right I do enjoy watching my reef in the evenings. As always I have to keep out of it though, I keep thinking I should change stuff up, there are three or four colonies that I think can be swapped out for better ones!

I bought these with the spouts so that I can easily "buffer up" my alk or ca by simply pouring into a graduated beaker 100ml or 200ml in the case that my alk has slipped a little. It has worked out great so far.

Wow, thats a pretty amazing compliment Completely untrue though, there are tanks that blow mine away but thank you anyways, compliments feed my ego !

I shoot for alk of 8, Ca of 1450 and mag around 1500.
Tested alk only last night and it was 7.3 I buffered up to 8 and upped the doser by 25ml a day. Thats how I keep my alk as tight as possible. Test once a week at least, shoot for three times a week as I am paranoid but rarely find the time. Ca and Mag usually come in where I want them, Ca does tend to slip but buffering it up has never caused a problem.

ahhh man ! that sucks !
i hear you about the net and ... not looking good, I think Im gonna try to make an acrylic side to expand the sides all the way up to my light fixture, and install a couple of fans on the acrylic holder ... it should cool down the tank and at the same time bring some safty for the jumpers ... hopefully removable too for when I have ppl over .... if I get around doing it this weekend, I will post some pics

Sorry, missed this question. I add trace elements per the Fauna Marin directions. I will continue with the trace even though I have switched to BRS alk and Ca

I do use several Zeo products. Intermittently at best / whenever I think of it.

Pohls Extra 5ml three times a week
Sponge power 5ml three times a week
LPS amino 2ml 2 times a week.

Plus I feed an outrageous amount of food every day

MOst people would think I am nuts ....

ooooh Mike, so sorry to hear that, a huge loss for sure. Not sure what I would do in that situation.

Someone needs to start a small business custom making mesh tops, like immediately if not sooner
