Ebay MH bulbs

Me and a couple of friends just ordered from hobby lighting. We ordered the 250w and 400w versions of the 10k and the 14k. All three of us thought the 10k way to dim, the 14ks where actually brighter. Personally I love the 14k and I know at least one of my other friends like them too. There is 1 undecided as he loves his XM 10ks.
 
Just received a pair of 250Watt 20k DE Pulserights ...

From what I can tell they look identical to my Reeflux 20k's and are 1/2 the price.

Haven't measured PAR or anything but I honeslty can't tell the difference.

Other's have said that the 20k's are really white but I don't think they are at all.

I'm running them on Icecap ballasts.

Is Hobby Lighting selling the PlusRite bulbs? I would prefer not to deal with TrustDeals again if other vendors supply them also.

I see your in Canada. Doesn't it take longer to have packages shipped?

I had horrible customer service with them also on top of the poor quality of bulbs. I live in Pittsburgh,PA and they are out of Philly. They are quick to take your money and send out the bulbs but if there are any issues, forget it. I had 10k in the past as part of an ebay buy and they were ugly yellow. I had Phoenix for the past 18 months and thought I would give the 14k a shot. I got the bulbs on time and had a helluva time getting them in the socket (DE). I thought it was me and tried my Phoenix and they went right in. I tried the PlusRite 14k again and the end cracked but went in. After about 10 minutes the second went in and after I fired them up, the one that didn't crack would shut off after 10 minutes. I emailed him and said I needed to return both but also wasn't happy with the color as the 14k looked white compared to my Phoenix and my green cap with purple rim looked brown all over. He said he could ship me the 20k so I figured why not. I sent the bulbs back UPS so he got them in two days. Well after 6 weeks and about 12 emails and 4 calls I finally get the replacement bulbs. He told me he sent them twice and USPS must have lost them but never sends them insured or with delivery confirmation, how convenient. I get the 20k and same thing I can't get them in. I give them the benefit of the doubt and try my Phoenix and guess what...they go right in. So after another 20 minutes and a chipped end AGAIN I get them in. They look no different than the 14k!! I put them in my drawer for emergency only use put the Phoenix back in till I get another set of them and chalk the wasted money spent on them to experience. Also one thing I noticed is the inside of the bulbs have a white haze in them and the probe inside is on the top instead of the bottom like my Phoenix. I'm not sure if these are all defects that they just slap them Plus Rite name on or not, but I will never use them again EVER! Just my experience..:lol2:
 
Two of the three 250w 14ks that I have had running for about two months stopped working all of the sudden within days of each other. I tested my fixture with my old bulbs and they started right up so it is definitely the bulbs. I emailed Art at trustdeals and he said he would send out replacements the next day. This was about 3 weeks ago and I am still waiting. I have given up trying to get in touch with anyone at the company. The bulbs IMO look great when they work but I'm about ready to spend the extra cash and get some Phoenix bulbs instead. I'm also in Pittsburgh and they took forever to get shipped. No clue why. Drop shipped from NJ the shipping said.

I had the same issue and would call him and email him continuously until he returned one or the other. I stated in one email that he has my money and the bulbs back and that if he doesn't send the the replacement bulbs then that constitutes theft and I will contact the authorities. He finally emailed me back that day...:lmao: I find it funny, when I initially ordered by phone, I called and he didn't answer so I didn't leave a message cause I was just going to try back a little later since it was earlier in the morning. I hung up the phone and he called back literally 20 secs later. I just find it funny how quickly he calls me back to get my money without even a message left but it takes several emails and calls to get cs. I still believe that the bulbs are mfg rejects and hit or miss.

Come to think of it, even though the 20k was perfect that I got, the 14k was mis-sized and even looked slightly used. Failed QC control bulbs that are probably 95% fine, but w a 5% chance of problems perhaps?
 
Well I sure am happy I went back to Phoenix. My plus rites did work everytime but my bulbs were miss sized. I thought it was just me but it looks like that is a common problem with them. I do believe they are diff factory 2nds or possibly 3rds.

I just ordered 3x Phoenix as well, this is the first time for Phoenix, can't wait any longer. I always ran XM20k without any actinic.....

eyebedam, can you post few pics so I can see if they are as blue as XM's.
 
My 22k 150's came today- just 3 days after I ordered them.. Packed very well. Haven't had a chance to hook'em up yet, as I just got home from work..

I've been runing a 400W 14000K single end bulb for about a month now, 7 hrs. a day. Bulb has fired every time & is as bright as my previous 10000K USHIO bulb but with a ton more blue. So far I love this bulb & at the price I could replace every 6 months & still come out way ahead. I should mention its being ran by a magnetic ballast.

Shipping was only a few days for me.
 
I am running the 20k 150 watt De, it has been a few months now and the color is still good ( a nice blue tint like my phoenix ). The price is right on these bulbs but you better hope you get some good ones the first time. I ordered 14ks the first order and they arrived in about a week, but when I returned them to get the 20ks that's when I got frustrated. I sent them back ups 2nd day so I could get the replacements back sooner, what a waste. Light spectrum would not answer my emails or phone calls. I waited a month from the time I shipped the bulbs back until the replacement bulbs arrived. They sent an email finally, after I said I wanted my money back, and they said that my case was unique, they had no idea what was going on. I do not think they read half of their emails or even listen to the phone calls. I like the bulb and the price but the quality of service is hit or miss.
I am the first one to try and save some money and find better deals however I am not sure that this one was worth it. I ordered 3 phoenix bulbs while I was waiting for the replacements. I did not think I would ever get my money or bulbs from Light spectrum it took them so long.
