Tank is full and running. The water was pretty clear before I cleaned the film that was on the glass. Hopefully it will be clear again tonight. I just threw the rock in so I could see how much water it displaced. Once I get everything kind of settled in I will work on stacking it how it will be.
I have decided I can't stand the overflow drain and maybe return this thing has. It is WAY too loud. Guess I get to start working on a replacement.
Great progress Dennis! The marineland megaflow overflows are anything but mega. I set mine up as a herbie for this reason and even had to cut out every other tooth in the weir in order to get the flow I wanted. How much flow are you trying to push through it? If it's gurgling you could try a maggiemuffler, I ran a homemade version of it on my old setup and it was significantly more quiet than a standard stockman. Also, keep in mind that there is no slime coat on your pluming yet so trickling noises are normal until it's been running a bit and that builds up.
So I changed the drain out for a type of durso that I have been using on my larger tank downstairs. I also added all my fish and some clams last night from that tank. It will be coming down for a while for some reconfiguration and maybe a different tank.
Here are the fish in their new home! The glass is dirty and I have some new tank algae growing on the rocks. The tangs and snails should have it taken care of too long and the glass will get cleaned now that there is stuff to look at in the tank.
Yellow Tang looks skinny. You can barely see it in the last picture.
Glad to see everyone is still kicking. Good job using the bright light in the window to let us know this wasn't taken immediately after you stocked the tank last night.
I got the privilege of seeing this tank in person a few weeks back, and it is top notch. Every piece is customized, thought out, and high quality work. I can't wait to see it with some grown out SPS colonies!
