EcoSmart Live Comprehensive Update (BETA)

Forgot to add, over the weekend I gave the ESL program a thorough testing within all the parameters and it was very staple for me.

Looks like ESL is ready for prime time.

I have to say, Ecotech Marine is the very best and I appreciate all your effects you develop for us in the reefing world.

Lastely, I hope a new controller is in the works from Ecotech Marine, which would be icing on the cake.

Thanks again,
Randy

Thanks for the feedback Randy. We are pleased to hear that the latest beta version of EcoSmart Live is working well for you.

I have a question about the website. Nothing happens when I click on feed mode on the ecosmart live site. Should I see something happen on the screen when I click feed mode? I've noticed the same thing when I click on the feed mode button on the iPad app. I touch the button and I don't see anything confirming the action.

We will add a confirmation message that your pumps have entered feed mode - good suggestion. However, once you hit the Feed Mode button, you should notice your pumps entering feed mode.

Shaun,

On the Vortech control, the settings will allow selecting any speed from 0% to 100%. The Vortech controller does not have the resolution to dial in 4% for instance and I'm just curious if the EcoSmart software is able to actually make the pump run at 4%? Just wondering if maybe it "rounds" to the nearest usable setting or if the pump is actually at 4%. Thanks.

Thanks, I'd like to dial it down to like 1% or 2% for night mode. I don't want it to shut off completely because I'm afraid a snail will get into it.

Just as an FYI, I have my two MP 40's set on constant mode at 5% at night time, for my 90 gallon reef, which the corals and fish like the calm flow pattern.

Thanks,
Randy

Another question...

Is there a minimum speed that the variable speed modes will work with?

For example, if I set it to 1% max speed in lagoon mode as my "night mode", will the pump still randomize the speed up to the 1% maximum? I'm guessing not because any slower would be "off" but I have my MP10 set to 1% right now in lagoon mode and I can feel the motor pulsing when I touch the dry side.

Technically the VorTech driver does have a higher resolution, however the LEDs that you see are illuminated as you hit even, known increments. So to answer your question, the speed that you enter in the website is an accurate value, even through the driver LEDs might reflect otherwise.

A speed value of 1% for Lagoon or any of the other "variable speed" modes is acceptable, however the pumps will never go below the lowest possible speed. So at 1%, it will essentially be Constant Speed. So I would recommend using something greater than 1% so you get some variability. Technically, 0% isn't really off, just the slowest the pump will move water.

Alex, I been trying for the longest time to connect my vortechs

I did the method for rds85. Still nothing. The signal is strong VIA ecosmart live device but it's still coming up with errors and not being able to update. Any other methods? thanks.

FYI, I already updated the firmware on reeflink

GatorAlum
They did an update that went out last night or today not sure. But try it after the updates today.

Try power cycling your Reeflink and pumps and see if that fixes your issue.

Thanks,

I'm confused how the wave presets are supposed to work. I can save them using the Live Demo, and then load them for short pulse, but can't seem to load them in Nutrient Transport mode. How are we supposed to set the wave duration for NT mode?

That is a great question. You can only recall presets in this VorTech schedule that have matching modes. For example, if you are editing a Nutrient Transport mode data point, you will only be able to recall Nutrient Transport presets.

OK, so then how do I adjust the pulse timing in Nutrient Transport mode? I only see that option in pulse mode. Normally, the pulse setting sticks when you move to Nutrient Transport mode, but that does not seem to be the case with ESL.

I am back testing the beta program

I turn on the reeflink and get automatic software upgrade. It seems working now. I create an aquarium profile, drag and drop the reeflink icon to the "box".

(1) There is a bug that when I save the aquarium layout, the site refreshes and goes to "searching devices" mode and times out because it can't find Radion (I don't have Radion). I guess you test the site with Radion installed. Try to reproduce it by dismantling the Radion.
(2) A bug that when I click Aquarium Layout, it does not go to the Aquarium Layout. Also when I click Vortech, it does not go to Vortech.
(3) A bug that says You are currently offline... once you get connected you must program your light... Not sure why. I just logout and login and get that message. Then the next message is "searching devices", timeout, can't find Radion. This is bug is persistent and annoying.

I already create the Vortech schedule but now I can't go to the schedule anymore. Every time I login to the site, I get bug #3. Running IE private mode does not help.
