EcoTech Reef Link

EcoTech Reef Link

My bad. I told you there was alcohol involved. AWM AI Wireless Module. For the wireless AI fixtures. The Radions will be controlled through a modified WXM module. The wired AI still through the VDM.

I saw the reef link in person at MACNA today and its pretty awesome. It will control the radion and eventually the pumps wirelessly. I was on the fence with ai vega, hydra and radion and after seeing all the controls for all, i walked away with a brand new radion pro and am awaiting the control link. Its really simple to use and worked flawlessly at the show.

Congrats and welcome to the radion family.

Yes. Apex now has a module to allow you do control your Radion with the same power as reef link. The great part about the new module is it can control AI lights, Kessil Lights as well. In addition to controlling everything else Apex is now cloud based. That means no more opening firewalls and all that jazz. Simple point and click. The new interface is very well done. Reeflink will work well also, no pump control at this point but they will add it shortly. Both are good options, apex can just control everything else in addition. I see ecotech going head to head with apex in the future with a full reef link aquarium controller....

The forthcoming AWM (short for AI Wireless Module) is exclusively for AI wireless-enabled fixtures. The Radions will be controlled through the existing module for Vortechs - the WXM. Kessil A360 lights, which use 0-10v control, are controlled via VarSpd outlets.

If we don't have a WXM now should we get the current WXM or is there a new version that will be coming out that will control the Radion's? Any time line on all of this being available?

No new WXM hardware... just new WXM firmware which will be part of the Apex system firmware update. So there's no reason to wait if you plan to get a WXM. Neptune is shooting for a mid-November release.

Well thats the best news i have heard all year, because i already own a wxm, and was thinking of getting the reeflink, great job neptune

How sure are you about mid November release? I have the WXM module an was debating to get the reeflink for vortechs and radions... Is there more info from Neptune in regards to this?

Also the software on the reeflink looks pretty nifty to say the least.

I think it will be worth the wait, whenever Neptune releases it. My bet is their implementation will be cleaner, better thought out and you know it will be better integrated with the Apex than what Ecotech could do.

So just to be clear, within the coming months, Radion fixtures will be controllable by using a WXM? Does this apply to all the Radions, or just the newest model?

I was going to go with a Reef Breeders fixture since the Radions weren't controllable with the Apex, but this might be worth the additional cost.

All Radions will be controller by the WXM module in conjunction with the pumps... I am pumped, not to mention on their page they have more announcements to make within a day or two... i am guessing the beta will be implemented :)

"Another announcement will come in a day or two – stay tuned!"

Best news this year, Christmas is coming early and I can't wait; I hate connecting my computer to the lights to change/update programs...

I guess that leads me to another question. Will the use of the Cloud Fusion interface be required to program the light? I'm not a fan of someone else's server having access to my devices. I prefer to have positive control over my own devices when I'm outside of the LAN.

Updating Drivers then adding to reeflink???

Updating Drivers then adding to reeflink???

Does anyone know how or has anyone had any success adding their MP's to the reef link app? I cant get mine to update so I can?
