Hilarious! I was in the same boat this morning my mp40qd is going to be here today and I was very close to calling in as well.

Only one of my 2 mp40 DQ is dead silent the other not so much. Im pretty sure it has to do with the wet side as when I switch the wet side with the other qd motor the noise follows it. The quite one is SILENT!!! When my ear is touching the motor, I hear a smooth whirr of the motor/bearings. Past 4" nothing, silence even with my great hearing. The other I can tell when its ramping up 30 feet across the room. Mind you all this after adjusting the wet sides to line them up with the dry sides. Other then this slight issue I LOVE THEM. They're my first EM product and very happy with my purchase. Flow is awesome and corals look like they like the new flow & patterns. Gonna do a Full in-depth review on youtube but I want to contact EM and see how they resolve the issue b4 I post it. Happy Reefing

Give that wet side a few days to settle in (could take as long as a week) and it should be totally quiet just like the other one. Sometimes wetsides need a little bit of a break-in for the bearings to seat. If you are not satisfied after that time then we will promptly send you a replacement.

BTW, that's exactly what happened to mine. Wetside was a tad noisy initially, but after 'breaking in' it's completely silent.
BTW, would it be asking too much to get an ETA on driver upgrades? I placed an order for a QD driver for my MP60 (including being charged for it) a number of weeks ago, and ...... bupkus! I'm quite happy to be patient, but it would be nice to know what kind of wait we are looking at. Is it March? April? ..... May

I pre ordered upgrades the moment they became available. That's the last time I ever do that. I think it's ridiculous that they can take peoples money without having an actual delivery date.
If you take a look how on this thread Ecotech completely jumped, overlooked and pretended like they didn't even see this post:
But was quick to reply to the post right after that one.
Not to mention, I feel like they answer every issue they have with the vortechs with "give it a few weeks to break in".
Just me venting, I'm complaining but I still buy their products. LOL..

Hah, yeah, cannot imagine ETM has missed this thread ... Maybe they've 'missed' it though :lol:. My guess is that the response to QD has been far higher than anticipated (demand planning and forecasting is elusive, even for large sophisticated manufacturers) and they simply do not know when the upgrades will be available. Still not a good reason to offer some comment to assuage impatient customers.

Thank you, I always had to have spare wet sides due to periodic issues so I was hoping they changed them yet I had to ask since they always have upgrades and I did not want to piece together any upgrades if the wets were new and different.
