Ecoxotic Stunner LED thread

thanks to somebody on the URS forum :wavehand: I recently got to experiment with some of these LED's. I don't know what color they are but they're pretty kewl :strange:

I was wondering about other folk's impression of them. Plus... how would I mount them in my hood? I have a fan cooled hood but 3 400w halides and 2 VHO's STILL run hot. I don't think velcro is an option! How much heat can these units take before plastic starts to melt? Anybody solve a similar problem?

im running 4 strips of stunners on my freshwater tank and they are nice.

the stunners have holes on each end so you can screw them on . just be careful as they didn't do itthat smart as the hole nearest to the powercord is so close that it seems as though you could cut the wires if you tightened the screw down to much . i have installed quite a few of them and they do have a great effect . i kind of like the reefbrite units look better as they really make the colors POP !

Gary that one you have is a 453nm. A certain LFS I mentioned to you has them in various sizes and in various "flavors".

one word to the wise is that they will grow algae if you put like six units over a 6' tank and leave them on all night . they look great but to much is too much !
