Do you guys feel gypped when people alter their photos?

I recently bought a new camera and I am trying to figure out how to take the best pictures and how to edit the photos...

What are your thoughts on editing or altering pictures? Should people leave them the way they were captured by the camera?

Thanks

Processing photos and editing to deceive are two different things. The human eye sees the world much differently than the limited vision of your digital camera.

what doug said ^^^

Even a skilled photographer with a quality camera white balanced specifically to their lighting, it is still virtually impossible to have all pics taken appear as they actually do in real life.

so to answer yoru question, no.....just becasue a photoshop or similar program is used, doesnt always mean it was used for less than honorable representation of a coral. In most cases it is used to MORE reflect the actual appearance than if not used

fuirthermore, if you shoot in RAW, you have to post process to even be able to view or post the picture

If you've got LED's, you really need to use some sort of image processing to get it looking real-to-life. Those RB's screw with the detector, even with white balance adjusted. Generally, I need to slide the blue histogram way over.
